New Orleans’ band Galactic brings their unique fusion of funk, jam, hip-hop, and electronic back to Toad’s Place of Richmond this October. Originally created as just a funk band as inspired by the local New Orleans scene in the mid 90’s, over the years they have adapted and created a style envied by most. Maybe you could say they’re modernizing the sound of funk by creating a new sound by fusing many genres together with incredible success, or maybe you could say they are out to create a new genre.
